Brompton founder honoured by HRH the Duke of Edinburgh
Andrew Ritchie, founder inventor of the Brompton bicycle, has been awarded the Prince Philip Designers Prize, awarded annually to recognize a lifetime contribution to design. His Royal Highness made the award at a reception held on October 15th, 2009 at Buckingham Palace to mark the 50th anniversary of the Prize’s inception.
Run by the Design Council, the Prize exists to draw attention to the importance of good design and to recognise the work of the most talented designers; it is the most prestigious award for design in Great Britain.
